Simply Sweet Strawberry Shortcake

We’re always looking for a cause for celebration around here, so imagine our excitement when we discovered today is National Strawberry Shortcake Day! We quickly headed to the store to stock up on three simple ingredients to get the party started.

Rumor has it that strawberry shortcake rose to popularity in the 1850s to mark the coming of summer. We have a feeling we’ll be whipping up this light and refreshing dessert all season long.

Using pre-made cake, this recipe came together in under 5 minutes flat! Simple, sweet and speedy, these treats boast the perfect combination of juicy fruit and rich cake lightened up with our creamy 0% Vanilla.

While we took a shortcut for this shortcake (pun intended) by using pre-made sponge cakes, we bet it’d be equally delicious with freshly made pound cake or light and fluffy angel food cake. Get creative in your own Chobani Kitchen and whip it up your way!

Ingredients (serves 3)

— 1 pint strawberries, sliced

–3 containers 0% Vanilla Chobani Greek Yogurt

— 1 package sponge cakes (pound cake or angel food cake will do!)


Simply stack the cakes with a layer of 0% Vanilla and sliced strawberries, and top with another layer. Repeat with another layer of Chobani and sliced strawberries.

Slice and enjoy, while basking in the summer sun!
