Highlight On: Allison Jones, Six-Time Paralympian

Imagine competing at the highest level possible in a sport. Now imagine doing that for two different, intense sports. For Allison Jones, a six-time Paralympian, this is just business as usual. She competes, and medals (2 bronze and 1 gold in London 2012!), in both the summer and winter Paralympic Games, in Para Cycling and Skiing. Pretty impressive, right?

The 28 year old star athlete got her start at a very early age by growing up playing sports like T-ball and swimming. It wasn’t until she found skiing and later cycling that her talents truly began to blossom. She made her first Paralympic appearance at age 17 in Salt Lake City, where she captured two alpine skiing silver medals!  All of her sports accomplishments aside, she’s also just an absolute pleasure to hang with. We got the chance to chat with her in Colorado Springs, on set of our latest commercial:

And all of her hard work has certainly paid off in London this year! Allison was the first member of the U.S. Paralympic team to bring home a medal: a bronze in the 3,000 meter C1-C3 Pursuit, followed by another bronze medal in the individual C 1-3 Road Race. She also brought home the gold in Women’s Road Cycling, Individual C1-3 Time Trial, making her the second U.S. woman to win a gold medal in both the summer and winter Paralympic Games.

Truly nothing but good, dontcha think? Way to go, Allison! We’re so ridiculously proud and inspired by you.
