How To Live Your Life Like A Sports Team
We’re all adults here. Well, most of the time. Deep down, we’ve all got that little kid inside; the one who loved to play in the dirt, came home with a couple grass stained knees, and a well-exaggerated story. As a kid, playing is everything. Each game is the pinnacle of your existence. When you get down to it, not much has changed. Sure, you’ve grown up a bit, but if you’re anything like us, you’re still down to bring home a few grass stains once in awhile. Once a week, we’re psyched to break out the old cleats and rally downtown for a healthy game of soccer. Belonging to a league gives us the same competitive edge on the field that we have in the office. It’s our weekly reminder to be team players, wherever we are.
So who plays what position? We’ve got the good old coaches (bosses). Can’t forget about your teammates (co-workers). And of course, we wouldn’t be here without the game – your J-O-B.
Sometimes the office can feel like a tennis match with emails bouncing back and forth; always giving the pitch your hardest swing. Harness that. Look to those colleagues to motivate you. Let them push you further than you’d otherwise go alone. Be competitive. Heck, a little healthy competition is good for ya. It will continually push you to do your best. Don’t cheat & never leave anyone in the dust. A helping hand goes a long way.
On your way to work in the morning, remember those butterflies you had at last week’s match. Channel the adrenaline rush you felt the first time that whistle blew. Use it. Tackle each day like a new game. When the day wraps, you’ll be left with one thing: the feeling of a game well played.
